What is a Storyboard ?

Storyboards are commonly referred to as series of illustrations or frames used to visualize scenes of a script that directors and film crews work from during the shooting of a movie, or commercials, etc.  The storyboard is the backbone of a production, a tool that helps a director visualize the work he or she is going to produce.

How to use a Storyboard & why it is so important ?

The storyboard provides the director with the opportunity to fine-tune a script before the shooting starts. This is advantageous to any director for preventing mistakes and wasted time.
The storyboard can also be used as a budgeting tool. The production company can study the storyboard and determine all the costs and necessities of the film, as well as plan for the amount of time needed for shooting.
